Join a world of energy as MFT Energy's new Student Trader for US Power Trading
Are you curious about how fast-paced markets work and motivated to learn how to make decisions based on real-time data? Then you might be our new Student Trader. We are looking for a student who is competitive, curious, and eager to learn how trading works in one of the most dynamic markets.
The job as Student Trader
You will join our US Power team and become part of a fast-growing trading setup operating in one of the world’s most dynamic energy markets.
From early on, you will work close to the market, monitoring real-time developments, supporting trading decisions, and gradually building your understanding of how trading strategies are executed in practice. You will collaborate with experienced traders, analysts, and developers, where learning is hands-on and feedback is direct.
You can look forward to
Supporting trade execution in the US power markets, with a focus on short-term opportunities
Assisting in the development and refinement of trading strategies
Monitoring real-time market data and learning how to make fast, informed decisions
Working closely with traders, analysts, and developers to improve tools and insights
Supporting the evaluation of trading positions, with a focus on risk and performance
Sharing observations and ideas to challenge existing approaches and improve execution
What we are looking for
You are currently studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematical Economics, or a related field
You are interested in financial or commodity markets and motivated to learn what drives them
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to take ownership as you learn
You think analytically and are motivated to develop structured problem-solving skills; technical skills are a plus, not a requirement
You bring a collaborative mindset and positive, competitive energy to the team
You are curious, proactive, and quick to learn – especially when facing new and complex challenges
