MFT Energy is an independent energy trading company headquartered in Denmark, trading power, gas, and environmentals across 41 countries, and we are now growing our team in Istanbul. We are looking for a sharp, curious candidate ready to kickstart a career in one of Europe's most dynamic energy markets.

The job as Junior Power Trader

You will join our Power Trading team in Istanbul and play a hands-on role in day-ahead trading from day one. Working alongside experienced traders, you will build a real understanding of how risk, mandates, and execution come together in a live market, and contribute to the tools and models that keep our team ahead. Over time, you will grow toward independent trading, with the foundation to run your own book.

Your key responsibilities

• Running day-ahead trading operations and managing risk within approved mandates

• Supporting senior traders on existing books while building toward your own

• Contributing to the development of new trading models, strategies, and tools

• Operating in a 24/7 market, including weekend and shift rotations as part of the rhythm

• Monitoring real-time market data and making fast, informed decisions

• Challenging the status quo and helping rethink how we trade and execute

Your qualifications and personal skills

• You hold a degree in a quantitative field such as engineering (industrial, electrical, computer, or similar), mathematics, physics, finance, or a related discipline

• You have programming skills or are motivated to develop them

• You think analytically, structure problems clearly, and make decisions with confidence under pressure

• You are curious, proactive, and quick to learn, especially when facing complex challenges

• You bring a collaborative mindset and positive, competitive energy to the team

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written, as our company language is English
