The job as a Power Trader

As a Power Trader at MFT Energy, you will be part of the daily trading activities and contribute to developing strategies and models for spot auctions in the Central West European markets. Our team consists of 7 traders and analysts, ready to welcome you and support you in your professional and personal development.

We do not expect you to have experience with power trading, but you should have a deep desire to learn and have an interest in the energy business. We will provide you with comprehensive onboarding and training, and guarantee a fun work environment, a steep learning curve, and a fast-paced career in European power trading.

Your key responsibilities

• Daily trading and optimization of trading positions
• Developing and implementing trading strategies
• Building and maintaining quantitative models
• Continuous risk evaluation
• Always questioning the status quo
• Applying insight to optimize and rethink automated trading tools
• Developing projects and implementing these with support from our specialist colleagues and support teams

Your qualifications and personal skills

Skills we believe are important to succeed:

• Have/or will soon have a master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or Physics.
  • Or have experience with etc. stock trading, poker, or similar that gives you competencies relevant to trading

• A competitive attitude and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to quickly learn complex datasets and methods
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• A natural interest in sharing your knowledge and seeking out new knowledge
• Basic coding skills and modelling experience
